Any successful digital campaign relies on strong content to facilitate engagement. And in marketing, engagement is the name of the game. Enter Jade Vickery, SSDM’s newest digital content coordinator.
Finding her way
After proudly graduating from Oxford High School (#OxfordStrong), Jade Vickery earned her bachelor’s degree from Oakland University where she studied both writing and graphic design. As Jade considers herself to be a “big picture thinker,” it was pretty easy for her to identify that a career in marketing was the perfect sweet spot for her to utilize her many talents. Once she made it past a few forks in the road, of course.
Jade tried to get a graphic design job straight out of college but the job market wasn’t looking great for creatives at the time. She took on a number of positions in the finance world, including administrative roles that often found her leading other initiatives like marketing and social media management.
Main character energy
Her passion for marketing only grew when she took a role as a marketing coordinator at WealthMap Advisors, a financial planning firm. Before Jade arrived, the company didn’t have a website or marketing strategy in place to reach its target audience.
She single-handedly took on the challenge of rebranding the company with a new logo and website as well as a consistent brand identity that would allow for an omnichannel strategic approach. Jade spent over a year executing paid digital advertising campaigns to generate qualified web traffic, organic and paid social media campaigns to increase the company’s reach, and developed content marketing resources to help educate the firm’s target audience.
While she received rave reviews, she knew it was time for a bigger marketing challenge and a more collaborative team environment.
Perfect fit for agency life
At SSDM, our creative team works on every facet of a marketing campaign – from strategic development to audience refinement, to brand voice, to search engine optimization and visual design. So, Jade’s multiple talents and unique ability to see the big picture made her the perfect addition to an already stellar team.
Although much of her time will be spent on content development and copywriting for one of our largest clients, she’s already had dozens of opportunities to create for other clients – including internal marketing initiatives for SSDM.
Her volunteer efforts even align with our core values and philosophies! Whether it’s pro-bono marketing and design work or helping to create an app for people learning how to read with the American Youth Literacy Foundation, Jade is always finding ways to help others flourish.
Perfect fit for agency life
Although her nicknames around the office are “the human thesaurus” and “the human dictionary,” Jade has many other passions. For instance, she’s an avid tea drinker, anime and manga enthusiast, crowd-surfing pop-punk fan, former competitive gymnast, video game lover… the list could truly go on and on.
And here’s a fun fact for you: Jade has a twin, although her sister lives out of state, so we’ll never know what kind of twin hijinks they’d pull together!
